Jeanine M. Stewart, 77, of Blair, died Sept. 30, 2010, following a lengthy illness.

Services were Monday, Oct. 4, at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Blair. Interment was in the Blair Cemetery.

Jeanine "Jeanie" M. Berger was born April 19, 1933, in Miles City, Mont., to William and Millicent Berger. She moved with her family to Great Falls, Mont., where she graduated from Great Falls High School.

On Jan. 28, 1953, she married Jon Harold Stewart, who was stationed at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls. The couple then moved to Blair, where they owned and operated Stewart's Market for 28 years. After closing the family grocery store in 1984, Mrs. Stewart worked various part-time jobs, the most recent at RSVP and Catering Catering.

She enjoyed many memorable vacations with family and friends on Lake of the Woods in Canada. Playing cards with her friends, especially bridge, was one of her favorite pastimes.

She was an active member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church and PEO. She also volunteered her services at Memorial Community Hospital's gift shop and the Washington County polling booths.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Mary Stewart of Blair; daughters, Marcy Zimmer of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Leslie Watts of Blair; granddaughter, Marla and husband R.J. Ryan, and grandsons, Jon Stewart and Greg Stewart, and Eric Watts, all of Blair; Matthew Zimmer of Sioux Falls; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Jason Stewart, Cole and Grant Ryan, all of Blair; sister-in-law, Marianna Berkley of Virginia Beach, Va.; brother-in-law, Les Kinzell of Palmdale, Calif.; many special nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jon; sister, LaMoyne Kinzell; granddaughter, Megan Zimmer; son-in-law, Jeff Zimmer.

Memorials are suggested to St. Mary's Episcopal Church or the American Cancer Society.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
