MADELINE P. CARLSON, 83

Madeline P. Carlson, 83, of Blair, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, at the First United Methodist Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Madeline Pearl Davis was born July 5, 1925, in rural Herman to Jessie and Anna (Nielsen) Davis. She attended rural schools in Washington and Burt County and Heron Lake, Minn.

She married Clifford “Red” Moller in Gainesville, Texas, on Dec. 24, 1943. He preceded her in death in April 1996.

She married Hollis Carlson on Oct. 19, 1996. He preceded her in death in February 2005.

She was a switchboard operator in Craig, worked at the Martin Bomber Plant during World War II, the Safeway Store in Blair and Anderson Pharmacy in Blair for 18 years.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Blair, where she taught Sunday School, Bible School and directed the children’s choir. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother.

She loved her family and enjoyed playing cards and watching Husker football.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, M. Carol and Richard Burkhead of Missouri Valley, Iowa; son and daughter-in-law, C. Charles and Mary Moller, Nine Mile Falls, Wash.; three stepchildren, Richard Carlson of LaFayette, Calif.; Hollis Dee and JoEllen Carlson of Kansas City, Mo.; and Peggy and Jim Ritchey of Omaha; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Jessie and Elizabeth Davis of Shippensberg, Penn.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Billie and Howard Cook of Kennard and Nina Phalen of Lyons.

In addition to her two husbands, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Chuck, Howard and Allan Davis; and sisters, Dorothy Tramner and Maxine Shotwell.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

FUNERAL SERVICE 10:30 am Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery. VISITATION begins 10 am Monday with a prayer service at 7 pm. Memorials may be directed to Church Building Fund.
