Georgia E. McShane, 89, of Blair, formerly of North Platte, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, at Crowell Memorial Home.

Graveside services were Friday, Oct. 1, at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell.

Georgia E. Swanson was born Aug. 7, 1921, in Litchfield to George W. and Cora E. (Johnson) Swanson. She grew up in California, graduated from Campbell (Calif.) High School. She moved with her family back to Nebraska and, on Sept. 29, 1973, married John McShane.

She worked in the ordnance plant in Grand Island during WWII. The couple moved to North Platte in the 1970s where they resided until present.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Elaine G. and Jim Johnson and Elizabeth E. Lieurance, both of Omaha; son, Charles Harry Lieurance, Jr. of Austin, Texas; two granddaughters; and a great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John; an infant brother, Paul; and her older brother, Raymond Swanson.

Adams & Swanson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
