COLORADO WOMAN BURIED AT BLAIR

Mrs. Avie Carmichael, former Blair resident, died at Denver, Colo. Saturday, January 5, at the age of 42. Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at the Campbell Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas J. Reese, pastor of the Baptist church in charge. Interment was made in the Blair cemetery.

As Mildred Irene Houghton, Mrs. Carmichael was born here October 9, 1892. She was married to Avie Carmichael at Blair July 24, 1911. To the union two children were born, Kenneth Frederick and Winifred Louise, the latter having died at birth. With the exception of about eight years spent in Omaha and at Denver, Mrs. Carmichael had lived here.

In the fall of 1921 she united with the Baptist church and had kept her membership in that faith continuously until her death.

Surviving Mrs. Carmichael are her husband and son, her father and mother, and two brothers and two sisters. The latter are Everett Houghton of Omaha, Clarence Houghton of Blair, Mrs. Myrtle Parish of Omaha and Mrs. Enoch Moore of Blair. A number of more distant relatives also survive.

FUNERAL FOR MRS. AVIE CARMICHAEL

FORMER RESIDENT OF BLAIR, 42, DIED IN DENVER LAST SATURDAY

Funeral services were held at the Campbell Mortuary Monday afternoon for Mrs. Avie Carmichael, aged 42, former Blairite who died last Saturday in Denver, Colorado. Rev. Thomas J. Reese, pastor of the Baptist church, officiated. Interment was is the Blair Cemetery.

Mrs. Carmichael had lived in Blair all her life, with the exception of the last eight years, which she spent in Omaha and Denver.

As Mildred Irene Houghton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Houghton, she was born in Blair October 9, 1892. After attending the schools here, she was married to Avie Carmichael on July 24, 1911. To the couple were born two children, Kenneth Frederick Carmichael and Winifred Louise, the daughter dying at birth.

Surviving are her husband and son; her parents; two brothers, Everett Houghton of Omaha and Clarence Houghton of Blair; and two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Parish of Omaha and Mrs. Enoch Moore of Blair. There are numerous more distant relatives.

Since 1921, Mrs. Carmichael had been a member of the Christian church.
