ROBERT CARMICHAEL DIED SUNDAY

Robert Carmichael, 73 years of age, died suddenly Sunday of a heart attack at his home at 1064 South Street in Blair.

The Bendorf Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, which had not been completed by press time.

Mr. Carmichael was born September 8, 1889 in Blair. He was a former carpenter and painter.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Laura Petersen of Bell Flower, California; a son, Horace Carmichael of Rockport, Illinois; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Louis Robinson of Blair and Mrs. Jeanette Dunn of Los Angeles, California.

Funeral services were held for Robert Carmichael Wednesday afternoon, the Rev. Gail B. Dunning of the First Christian Church conducting the service.

Mr. Carmichael was born in Blair September 8, 1889 and was 73 years of age at the time of his death. He died at his home here Sunday. He had been in good health prior to his death. Mr. Carmichael was married to Phoebe Evaline Cross, October 2, 1912, and to this union three children were born. A daughter died in infancy. Surviving is a son, Horace George, of Rockford, Illinois and a daughter, Mrs. Laura Petersen of Bellflower, California. Mrs. Carmichael died January 26, 1957. Others who survive, beside the son and daughter are 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Laura Robinson of Blair and Jeanette Dunn, of Los Angeles.

As a youth, Mr. Carmichael was employed at the Blair Canning Factory. Later he held a position in the City Light Plant for a number of years. He also did carpentry and decorating. He spent his entire life in Blair with the exception of two years when he was employed by the city of Maryville, Missouri in their electric plant. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Blair and the Jonathon I.O.O.F. Lodge, of Omaha.
