Maxine H. McClanahan, 87

Maxine H. McClanahan, 87, of Fort Calhoun, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007, in Blair.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2 at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun. There is no visitation. A private burial is planned.

Maxine H. McClanahan was born March 1, 1920, in Sidney, Iowa.

She married Howard McClanahan on Dec. 27, 1939, in Hiawatha, Kan.

She lived in Tekamah from 1939 until 1951, and then lived in Omaha until 1975.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Sue of Omaha, Tom and Mona of Corvallis, Ore., Mich. and Barb of Fort Calhoun; sister, Maureen Martin of Shenandoah, Iowa; four grandchildren and their families; five great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard, in July 1999; a grandson, Mark; and brothers, Verland and Keith.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Pioneer Friends Senior Group in Fort Calhoun.
