John A. Schroeder, Fort Calhoun, Died Friday
John A. Schroeder of Fort Calhoun, 71 years of age, died Friday in an Omaha hospital, where he had been a patient for the past four months.
Funeral services were held today (Monday) at the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Jack Mauldin officiating. Masonic graveside services were held at the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.
Mr. Schroeder was born Jan. 15, 1893 at Leigh, Nebr. He moved to a farm west of Fort Calhoun with his parents in 1905. In 1918 he moved to a farm on the south edge of Calhoun, where he lived until his death.
Mr. Schroeder is survived by a brother, Fred, of Omaha; a sister, Mrs. Emma Neuhouse, of Scribner; and several nieces and nephews.
He was active in the Masonic Lodge, being a member of Solomon Lodge No. 10 and the Eastern Star of Fort Calhoun, Adoniran Chapter and Jordan Commandry of Blair and the Tangerine Shrine of Omaha.
The Sievers Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
