Douglas L. Peterson, 72

Services are Wednesday, May 1 at 2 p.m. at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun for Douglas L. Peterson, 72 of Hallmark Care Center in Omaha who died April 28, 1991 at the center. Rev. Dale Sanders will officiate.

Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 30 at the funeral home. VFW Post No. 1251 will be in charge of military honors at the Fort Calhoun Cemetery where he will be buried.

Douglas L. Peterson was born July 10, 1918 at the family farm near Fort Calhoun to Albert J. and Sadia Ritchie Peterson. He attended Slader School through eighth grade and then farmed until his retirement.

He served with the United States Army during World War II. He belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1251 in Blair.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Alan Peterson of California and Robert Peterson of Blair.

He is survived by two sisters, Joyce Peterson, Omaha and Margaret Mester of Fort Calhoun.

Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the services.
