Geraldine R. Petersen, 81, of Blair, died Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Sept, 22, 2009, at the Blair Cemetery. No visitation will be held.

Geraldine R. Salsbury was born May 16, 1928, in Grand Island to Glen and Minerva (Daniels) Salsbury.

She retired in 1990 from Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair as a dietary cook. After retirement, she and her sister took many trips together. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary for 20 years and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth “Joe” and Trixie Moore of Oakland; two daughters and son-in-law, Carla Haswell and Julie and David Brown, all of Blair; grandchildren, Daniel Moore of Blair, Robin and Dave Casey of Blair, Carolynn Wiese of Blair, Mark and Melissa Haswell of Henderson, Nev., Deanna and Jerome Kazakavicuis of Council Bluffs, Iowa, David and Leslie Brown, Casey Brown and Amanda Brown, all of Blair, Alexandra, Nicole and Nick Moore of Oakland; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Minerva and Floyd Craig of Herman, and Judy and Marvin Wrich of Hawkins, Texas.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Moore; granddaughter, Wendy Brown; sisters, Cora Metzler and Rachel Craig; brother, Mike Salsbury; and son-in-law, Sidney Haswell.
