WILLIAM FRANK DIES AT AGE 69

BLAIRITE, FORMER HERMAN FARMER, DIED TUESDAY; FUNERAL TODAY

William Frank, 69, lifetime resident of Washington County, a Blairite since 1923, died Tuesday at Court View hospital following an illness of many months.

Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Frank, homesteaders north of Herman, he was born on the home farm March 12, 1869, and resided there during his youth. Upon reaching manhood, he assumed operation of the farm and was a farmer for many years. He was married in 1900 to Miss Alvina Keifer.

In 1921 the Franks moved into Herman, coming to Blair two years later. The present home is on north Walker avenue.

Surviving Mr. Frank are his wife; two sons, George Frank of Blair and Lloyd Frank of Oakland, California; and two daughters, Betty Frank of Blair; and Mrs. Fred (Verda) Thietje. Also surviving is a brother, Mathew of Tekamah. Three sisters and a brother of Mr. Frank preceded him in death.

Funeral services are being held this afternoon at 2 o’clock at First Methodist Church, the Rev. Ralph P. Rasmussen officiating. Interment will follow in Herman cemetery.

WILLIAM FRANK

William Frank, a native of this county, passed away at his home on North Walker Avenue last Tuesday morning, January 31, following an illness of several months’ duration.

Deceased was born on a farm which his father homesteaded near Herman, the date of his birth being March 12, 1869. Here he grew to manhood and later took over the duties of the farm. In 1900 he was married to Miss Alvina Kiefer, and to them four children were born.

After farming for fifty years, he moved to Herman and two years later to Blair where he has since resided.

He is survived by his wife and four children, George, Verda and Betty of Blair and Lloyd of Oakland, California, also by a brother, Matthew Franks of Tekamah and two grandchildren.

The funeral services are being held this Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the local Methodist church with Rev. R. P. Rasmussen officiating, and interment is to be made in the Herman cemetery.

EX-RESIDENT IS BURIED HERE

Funeral services for William Frank were held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the First Methodist Church in Blair, Reverend Ralph P. Rasmussen officiating. Interment was made in the Herman Cemetery.

The deceased was born on the farm home of his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. George Frank, a few miles north of Herman, March 12, 1869, where he resided during his youth. He passed away January 31, 1939, at the Court View Hospital in Blair, aged 69 years, 10 months and 19 days.

In 1900 he was married to Mrs. Alvina Kiefer of Herman. Four children were born to this union, two sons and two daughters. In 1921 the family moved into Herman, where they resided two years. From here they moved to Blair, where they had resided ever since.

Mr. Frank is survived by his wife, his sons, George Frank of Blair, and Lloyd Frank of Oakland, California; his two daughters, Mrs. Fred (Verda) Thietje, of Kansas, Miss Betty Frank of Blair; one half-brother, Matthew Franks of Tekamah, also two grand-children, other relatives and many friends. The pallbearers were Huit Lowe, Will Flannigan, Lennie Ackerman, Frank Kastle, Frank Ericksen and Ed Pyles.
