William Bolln is Dead at 47

Well-Known Tavern Proprietor Died Friday; Methodist Rites Held

In failing health the past two years and seriously ill since May, William Bolln, 47, proprietor and operator of the North Side Lunch on North Walker avenue, died Friday evening at his home, 321 west Washington street.

Well-known in both Blair and Fort Calhoun, Mr. Bolln had operated his tavern the past eight years, and appeared at his place of business up to a few weeks ago, when his condition became critical.

Funeral services, in charge of the Bendorf Funeral Home, were held at First Methodist church at 1:30pm Tuesday, the Rev. John P. Brooks officiating and interment following in Blair cemetery. Pallbearers were Chris Kuhr, Martin Kuhr, Carl J. Schmidt, F.H. McVicker, Clarence Kuhr and Chris J. Peterson.

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bolln, Mr. Bolln was born near Blair January 26, 1895 and attended school in Fort Calhoun. He and Lucy Watts of Fort Calhoun were married in Council Bluffs November 7, 1923, after which they made their home in Fort Calhoun until moving to Blair 12 years ago.

While in Fort Calhoun and for four years after coming to Blair, Mr. Bolln was an oil truck driver, first employed by the Nebraska-Iowa Oil company and later by Deep Rock.

Mr. Bolln is survived by his wife, Lacy; a son Billy Dean, 11; his mother, Mrs. Louise Bolln of Blair; three sisters, Mrs. A.J. Richter of Natchitoches, Louisiana; Mrs. Frank Wollf of Blair and Mrs. Olga Micheels of Omaha; two brothers, Carl Bolln of Omaha and Frank Bolln of Alhambra, California. His father, Joseph Bolln, died ten years ago and a sister, Mrs. Ira Piper (Dora) of Fort Calhoun died eight years ago.

WILLIAM J. BOLLN RITES MONDAY

William J. Bolln was born in Blair on January 26, 1895, and passed away at his home on West Washington street last Friday evening. He had been a sufferer for the past two years.

He spent his early years in Calhoun and received his education in the Calhoun schools. On November 7, 1923, he was married to Miss Lucy Watts in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and after a number of years, in 1930, they moved to Blair where they have since resided.

He leaves to mourn him his wife and son, Billy Dean; his mother, Mrs. Louise Bolln; three sisters, Mrs. A. J. Richter of Natchiotches, Louisiana; Mrs. Frank Wolff, Blair; and Mrs. L. G. Micheels of Omaha; and two brothers, Carl of Omaha and Frank of Alhambra, California.

Funeral services were held Monday with Rev. Brooks of the local Methodist church officiating, and interment, under the direction of C. K. Bendorf, was made in the Blair cemetery.
