JAMES LEMON

James Lemon, who lived on a farm six and one half miles northwest of Blair, died on last Saturday evening, Oct. 30, after six years of suffering from cancer of the stomach. During these years, he had visited the springs and had resorted to operations but without any relief from this dread disease. J. E. Lemon was born in Cottage Grove, Wisconsin in 1868 and was married in Madison, Wisconsin March 26, 1890. After leaving Wisconsin, he came to Iowa where he lived a number of years with his family, he came to Nebraska sixteen years ago this fall and has since lived on his farm of 80 acres, northwest of Blair. The immediate family consists of the wife and two daughters, Ethel and Grace, both married. Ethel is Mrs. P. Christiansen, living less than a mile from the parental home, and Grace, who is Mrs. Richard Barron, living at home. He leaves also a brother, Robert Lemon, and a sister, Mrs. Wm. Conger, both of Lyons, who were present at the funeral which was held from the Baptist church in this city, on Tuesday, Nov. 2nd, at two o’clock and interment in the Blair cemetery. The many friends and neighbors extend sympathy to the bereaved family.

JAMES EDWARD LEMON

James Edward Lemon was born at Cottage Grove, Wisconsin, August 12, 1869. He died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. P. C. Christensen, seven miles northwest of Blair, Oct. 30, 1915, being at the time of his death, 47 years, 2 months and 18 days of age.

On March 26, 1890, he was united in marriage to Miss Melvina Conger at Madison, Wisconsin. To this union there were born two daughters, Mrs. P. C. Christensen and Mrs. Richard Barron. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, two daughters, a brother and sister and a host of friends.

For the past six years he has been a patient sufferer from cancer of the stomach. For some time he has been conscious of the fact that he would be called from this life and, frequently of late, he told his wife that he was ready and willing to go at the Master’s call.

The funeral services were held at the Baptist church of Blair and interment was at Blair cemetery. A large number of friends were present, thus showing their sympathy with the bereaved and their appreciation for the life lived amongst them.

James Edward Lemon died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. P. C. Christensen, who lives seven miles northwest of town, last Saturday, Oct. 30th, of cancer of the stomach, having been a patient sufferer from this fatal disease for the past six years. He realized the end must come soon and told his wife he was ready to go when the summons came. The funeral was held at the Baptist church yesterday afternoon at 2 o’clock, Rev. C. M. Foreman officiating. Deceased was born in Cottage Grove, Wis., August 12th, 1869, and was therefore a little over 35 years of age. He was married to Miss Melvina Conger, March 26th, 1890, at Madison, Wis., who survives him with their two daughters, Mrs. P. C. Christensen and Mrs. Richard Barron. The funeral was largely attended, which showed something of the esteem in which he was held by his neighbors and friends.
