Maryln Ruth McClanahan, 63, of Omaha and formerly of Tekamah, died on Thursday, October 16, 1986, near Louisville, Kentucky. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 20, at the Hamel & Peck Funeral Chapel in Tekamah with Rev. Marion Knoell officiating. Burial was in the Tekamah Cemetery. All arrangements were handled by the Hamel & Peck Funeral Home at Tekamah.

She was born on May 1, 1923 at Blair, to Leslie and Ethel (Brown) Renshaw, and was married to Jay McClanahan, Jr. on May 23, 1941, at the first Methodist Church at Fremont. The couple moved from Tekamah to a farm near Blair in 1950 and moved from their farm to Omaha in 1957. Mrs. McClanahan worked for Western Electric for over 20 years.

Survivors include her husband Jay McClanahan, Jr. of Omaha; one daughter, Sandra James of Loving, Texas; two sons: Leslie McClanahan of Burlington, Kentucky and David McClanahan of Abbeville, Louisiana; nine grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Walker of Tekamah; two brothers: Russell (Bud) Renshaw and Robert Taylor, both of Tekamah.
