Larry McClaughry, 70

Services for Dr. Larry E. McClaughry, 70 of Four Seasons, Missouri, who died May 17, 1994, at Memorial Hospital in Jefferson City, Missouri were Thursday, May 19 at Harper Chapel Methodist Church in Osage Beach, Missouri. Burial was in Ridge Municipal Cemetery in Fremont on Saturday, May 21. The United States flag was presented by members of American Legion Post 71 of Arlington.

Larry E. McClaughry was born January 4, 1924, in Mound City, Kansas where he grew up and graduated from high school. He graduated from Kansas State University in 1946 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and joined the veterinary practice of Drs. Cady and Cady in Arlington.

He served with the United States Army during World War II. He was a captain with the Army Veterinary Corps during the Korean Conflict.

He started his own practice in Omaha in 1952. He later became Director of Quality Control for Dellen Laboratories in Omaha and was a pioneer in the development of the canine parvo virus vaccine.

He was a member of Harper Chapel Methodist Church in Osage Beach Rotary International, a lifetime member of the Nebraska, Missouri and American Veterinary Associations and a member of the Nebraska German Shorthair Pointer Club and American Legion Post No. 71 of Arlington.

He married Donna Gene Dahl June 20, 1948 in Fremont.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Gene and two sons, Michael of Four Seasons and Patrick of Knoxville, Tennessee.

A memorial has been established to the church.

Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
