Roma R. Gehrk, 82, of Blair, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair. Funeral services were Monday, Feb. 7, at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Kennard. Interment was in the Kennard Cemetery.

Roma Ruth Gehrk was born Jan. 19, 1923, on the family farm northeast of Kennard to Soren and Clara (Follen) Wolsmann. She graduated from Kennard High School in 1940.

On July 1, 1942, she married Henry Gehrk in Blair. Mrs. Gehrk lived in Kennard until the spring of 1999, when she moved to Blair.

Mrs. Gehrk was a life-time member of Emmaus Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, especially growing flowers. She was a good friend and neighbor and enjoyed watching the neighbor's children.

She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Winn; granddaughters and their husbands; and three great-grandchildren, all of Fremont; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Roy Fauss of Nickerson; brother and sister-in-law, John and Betty Wolsmann, brother-in-law, Albert Hansen; sister in laws, Hilda Rasmussen, all of Blair; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, in 1995; son, Ronald; son-in-law, Curtis Winn; sister, Lila Hansen; and niece, Laura Purcell.

Memorials are suggested to Emmaus Lutheran Church or the American Heart Association.
