Services For Rev. Guy McClure To Be Wednesday

Reverend Guy B. McClure died suddenly at his home on Sunday, May 21, 1978. He had been administrator at Crowell Memorial Home since the middle 1960’s and had served at the Home as Chaplain beginning in 1963.

Services will be held at Crosby-Kunold-Burkett Funeral Chapels, 34 and Farnam, on Wednesday, May 24, at 11 a.m. Reverend Gordon Patterson will conduct the services. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Omaha.

A special memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 23, at 2 p.m. at Crowell Memorial Home for the residents of the home.

Services For Rev. Guy McClure Were Held Wed.

Services for 63 year old Rev. Guy McClure were held on Wednesday, May 24th, at the Crosby-Kunald Funeral Home in Omaha. Rev. McClure died suddenly at his home in Blair on Sunday, May 21, of an apparent heart attack. Rev. McClure was the Administrator of the Crowell Home in Blair.

Rev. Gordon Patterson officiated with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery in Omaha.

Rev. McClure is survived by his wife, Opal, and two sons, Guy of Odessa, Texas and James of Holdredge, Nebraska. Also surviving is a brother, Earl of Phoenix, Arizona. There are five grandsons and two granddaughters.

He was presently on the Board of Trustees of Midwest Health Congress, Kansas City, Missouri and House of Delegates of American Association of Homes for the Aging in Washington D.C. He is a past president of Nebraska Association of Homes for the Aging.

Rev. McClure was an ordained Methodist Minister. He was Crowell Home Chaplain in 1963 and Crowell Home Administrator since the mid 1960’s. He belonged to the Scottish Rite Masons, Shrine organization and was past member of the Rotary Club and the Lions Club.

He served as minister of Silver Creek, Fairview, Trenton, Sutherland, Laurel, Valley, Elk City and in Omaha before coming to Blair as the Crowell Home Administrator.

Pallbearers were Lynn Wederquist, Earl Baldwin, Michael Ryan, Merritt Stinson, Bernard Thompson and Richard Sorensen.
