Services for Beulah Christine Nielsen Rueter, 71 of Falcon Heights, Minnesota who died of cancer at home December 8, 1993 were Saturday, December 11 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Beulah Christine Nielsen was born March 21, 1922 in Sidney, Montana. She was baptized as an infant with her twin brother, Bing, in Pella Lutheran Church of Sidney by her father, Rev. Carl E. Nielsen.

During her childhood she moved with her family to Luverne, North Dakota; Ruskin, Nebraska; and Ringsted, Iowa.

She attended Dana College in Blair where she was a member of the Dana College Choir.

After working as a nurse’s aide at Immanuel Lutheran Hospital in Omaha, she attended the Minneapolis Business College and then worked as an accountant for an optometrist.

She married Alvin Rueter August 30, 1944 in Ringsted, Iowa. They moved to Columbus, Ohio where she worked as a secretary for the Columbus Society for the Blind while her husband was finishing school.

They then served parishes in Monterey Park and Inglewood, California; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Lincoln, Nebraska; and St. Paul, Minnesota. Along with being a housewife and mother of five children, she was the co-producer of the nationally-syndicated weekly radio program, “Sing for Joy”.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Pauline; her twin brother, Bing and her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Alvin of St. Paul, Minnesota; her daughters and sons-in-law, Judith and Charles Brehm of Blair; and Christine and Lonnie Gilmore of Pensacola, Florida; her son and daughter-in-law, John and Pamela of Shoreview, Minnesota; her son, Theodore of Madison, Wisconsin; her grandson and his wife, Jeffrey and Deborah Brehm of San Antonio, Texas,; her granddaughter, Jill Brehm of Hays, Kansas; her step-grandchildren, Heather and Lonnie Gilmore of Pensacola, Florida; her great-granddaughter, Karissa Brehm of San Antonio; her brother and sister-in-law, Ejlert and Dagny Nielsen of Hastings, Nebraska; her sister and brother-in-law, Anita and Bonnie Stephens of Desert Hot Springs, California; other in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
