Services Held For McClellan

Goldie V. (Mitchell) McClellan, 90, died Tuesday, April 24, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha. She was born on January 6, 1894 in Clearwater, Nebraska, married Homer F. McClellan on June 4, 1917, Nebraska, and moved to Arlington in 1936. She also resided in Neligh, Nebraska.

She was a member of Arlington Community Church and the Royal Neighbors. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer, in 1963.

Survivors include daughters, Mrs. Melba Lea Cullen of Downey, California, and Mrs. Vivian Edmundson of Arlington; sisters, Mrs. Katherine Bennet of Neligh, and Mrs. Rachael Nolze of Westminister, California; five grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Friday, April 27 at Arlington Community Church with the Rev. Dr. Gene Laramy officiating. Memorials are suggested for the Arlington Community Church or the Arlington Library Fund. Burial was at Arlington Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hayden and Mary M. (Mummert) Mitchell, husband, Homer, sisters, Josephine Miller and Cressie Snyder and brothers, Fred, William, and James Mitchell.

Pallbearers were Howard Marshall, Virgil Hilgenkamp, LeRoy Brown, Les McKim, Art Wittman, and Allan Sorensen. Organist for the services was Mrs. Ruby House with soloist Mrs. Elaine Cady.
