Robert D. Faltys, 63

Robert D. Faltys, 63, of Omaha, died on Saturday, Dec. 25, 1999, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha. Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 29, at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 28, at Heafey-Heafey-Hoffman-Dworak-Cutler Funeral Home.

Robert D. Faltys was born March 14, 1936, to Harold (Jack) Triplett and Pearl (Peg Verbeek) Faltys in West Point. He moved to Tekamah in his early teens and graduated from Tekamah High School. He was chosen as All-Conference in football and basketball his senior year in high school.

He served in the United States Army from April 1954 to March 1956. He attended Santa Ana Community College in California.

On April 5 1957, he married Virginia Munk in Blair. He worked for Hunt-Wesson Food Company, later acquired from ConAgra, beginning in 1967. For the last three years he served as the director of customer service for ConAgra.

He was a charter member and treasurer of the Maumee Lions Club in Maumee, Ohio. He received the Lions Club Melvin Jones Award. He was also involved in the Boy Scouts of America and coached baseball. He is survived by his wife, Virginia; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Seven of Dayton, Ohio; and Matthew and Kathleen Faltys of Maumee, Ohio; five grandchildren; parents, Jack and Peg Triplett of Tekamah; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Marlene and Mike Skophammer of Albert Lea, Minn; Laura and Pete Little of San Clemente, Calif.; and Sharon and Bill Wenzel of Gresham, Ore.; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Gary Triplett of Fairfax, Va.; and Allen and Connie Faltys of Tekamah.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Faltys. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or First Lutheran Church.

Note: the newspaper said that burial to be in Blair Cemetery, but there are no cemetery records for that. Instead, he was buried in Ohio.
