CAROLEE ALEXANDER, 82

Carolee Alexander, 82, of Blair, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 3, at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd in Blair. Further services will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Norfolk United Methodist Church, with burial in the Prospect Cemetery in Norfolk.

Visitation will begin at noon Friday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home, with family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday.

Carolee Nelson was born June 3, 1924, in Morrill, Kan., to Raymond E. and Fannie (DeBusk) Nelson. She grew up in Morrill and graduated from Whiting Kansas High School in 1942. She graduated from Bethany School of Nursing in Kansas City, Mo.

In September of 1945, she married William Alexander at Kansas City, Kan., where she was attending nursing school. After their marriage, they lived in Kansas City, Chokio, Minn., Pittsburgh, Penn., Huron, S.D., and Norfolk. Mrs. Alexander nursed in various cities, and when they moved to Norfolk, she was employed at Norfolk Hospital. She later served as director of nursing at the Norfolk Regional Center until her retirement in 1984.

She was co-chairman for the Blood Mobile, a member of the United Methodist Church in Norfolk, served on several committees, member of the Nurses Association, and enjoyed boating, camping, walking, and music, especially playing the organ, and did oil paintings.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sue Neff-Richards and Jeff Richards of Blair; son, Bill Alexander of Chicago, Ill., 2 grandchildren, one great- granddaughter; sisters, Bernice Dachenhausen of Horton, Kan., and Maxine Smith of Pleasanton, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her husband, and three brothers.

ALEXANDER - Carolee age 82 of Blair, Ne. formerly, Norfolk. Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Sue Neff-Richards and Jeff, of Blair; son, Bill of Chicago; 2 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, and 2 sisters.

SERVICES 9:30 am Saturday, Good Shepherd Chapel in Blair. Further services 1:30 pm Methodist Church in Norfolk with burial in Norfolk. Visitation will begin 1 pm Friday, family receiving friends from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home.
