Harry C. Fankhouser, 79, of Blair died Saturday, Aug. 9, 1997, at his home in Blair. Services were Monday at First Christian Church.

Fankhouser was born March 11, 1918, to Vernon and Nellie (Jensen) Fankhouser. On July 4, 1960, he married Iola Barber. He farmed, owned and operated a grain elevator in the Tekamah-Herman area until his retirement when he moved to Blair.

He was a member of the First Christian Church and the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors are his wife, Iola; three daughters, Geraldine Chapman of Frederick, Md.; Carly Momohara Fankhouser and Roselyn Fankhouser, both of Lincoln, Neb.; two step-sons and their wives, Roger and Phyllis Barber of Herman and Rodney and Leslie Barber of Omaha; grandchildren; great-grandchildren and many friends and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and one sister.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
