Services are Thursday, May 26, at 2 p.m. at the Salem E. Lutheran Church in Fontenelle for August W. Ruwe who died Monday, May 24, at the Dodge County Hospital at the age of 69. Pastor Jackson Sherwood will be officiating at the services. Interment will be at Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Fontenelle.

August W. Ruwe was born December 8, 1907, at Arlington, Nebraska, to August and Mathilda Ruwe. He married Mildred Loosing March 28, 1943, at the Fremont Salem Lutheran Church. He farmed through most of his life, spending many years in the Herman area. He lived at Nickerson at the time of his death.

August Ruwe was a member of the Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fontenelle, Lutheran Brotherhood, was on the Church Council for a number of years, was past president of the Church Cemetery Board, a past director of the Winslow Farmers Co-op. He was recognized for fifty years patronage of the Omaha Livestock Exchange in 1976.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred; two sons, Harold Ruwe, Hooper, and Paul, Arlington; three daughters, Mrs. Gary (Dorothy) Steckelberg, Nickerson; and Mrs. Ronald (Ellen) Vollmer, Omaha, one brother, Leland, Herman, and eight grandchildren.

Warner Funeral Home, Hooper, is in charge of arrangements for the services.
