Mrs. Emma Toft Ruwe, a life-long resident of Washington County, died Friday at Good Shepherd Home in Blair. She was 91 years old.

Mrs. Ruwe was born March 29, 1881, at Orum. She grew up on a farm and spent all of her active life as a farm wife, moving to Blair a number of years ago following the death of her husband. Prior to making her home at the Good Shepherd, she lived at 1766 Lincoln Street, a property which she still owned at her death.

She was married to John P. Toft, of Arlington March 23, 1904, and to this union three children were born. They were Buelah Mae, Charles R. and Harold F. Toft. All of the three have preceded her in death. Her husband died on March 11, 1917.

On October 23, 1929, she was married to William H. Ruwe, of Fontenelle. Mr. Ruwe was also a farmer and engaged in farming in the Fontenelle area. No children were born to this union and Mr. Ruwe passed away on September 19, 1938.

A brother, Jesse Hansen, also resides at the Good Shepherd Home. There are six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow (Tuesday) at the Bendorf Funeral Home with the Rev. Sanford D. Sorgen conducting the service. Burial will be made in the cemetery in Arlington.
