Beverly Jean Rix, 64, of Kennard, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 8 at the Church of the Nazarene in Fremont. Interment will be in Prairie View Cemetery, near Kennard.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair, with the family receiving friends from 6;30 p.m. to 8;30 p.m.

Beverly Jean Rix was born Feb. 17, 1936, in Fremont to Kenneth and Martha (Bolton) Giblin. She was baptized on Palm Sunday 1944 at the Methodist Church in Elk City and confirmed her faith on May 31, 1964 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bennington.

Mrs. Rix graduated from Valley High School in May of 1953, and was employed as an executive secretary in Omaha for nine years prior to her marriage.

On Aug. 4, 1962, she married Robert Rix at the Baptist Presbyterian Church in Valley.

Mrs. Rix and her husband later joined St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bennington, and were members for 25 years. During the time that they were members, she taught Sunday school for 11 years. On Jan. 1, 1995, she became a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Fremont.

In 1985, Mrs. Rix attended Metro Community College for one year, and pursued her secretarial duties at Shopko in Omaha for 10 years, later resigning her position due to ill health.

She was a past member of the Omaha Medical Assistants Association, member of the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Fraternity, 4-H leader, and served on various committees within her church. She also volunteered at Methodist Hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Robert, son and daughter-in-law, Robert Dean and Julie Michelle Rix of Omaha, daughters and son-in-law, Julie Ann Rix of Kennard, Joni Lea and Eric Eitzmann of Omaha, four grandchildren and three step-grandchildren, and a sister, Nell Puls of Omaha.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials are suggested to the Church of the Nazarene, American Cancer Society, or American Lung Association. Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair is in charge of arrangements.
