John Schultz Rites Here Monday

Services were held Monday at 2 p.m. from Bendorf Funeral Home, Blair, for former Washington County Deputy Sheriff John Schultz, 74.

Burial was made at Military Cemetery, Ft. McPherson, near Maxwell.

Mr. Schultz died Saturday morning at an Omaha hospital following a lingering illness. He was born March 1, 1893 in Denmark and came to the United States in 1911.

He had served as a prison guard at Leavenworth and Alcatraz. Mr. Schultz had lived in Herman for the past 15 years.

He is survived by a niece in Denmark and two cousins. Karl Christensen of Herman, and the Rev. Eric Christensen of Omaha , are nephews of the deceased man.
