FUNERAL SERVICES FOR GEORGE COLEY

George W. Coley was born on September 20, 1860, in Wythe county, Va., and died at his home on June 8, 1935, age 74 years, 8 months and 19 days. In the spring of 1882 he came west to Nebraska, locating near Blair. On June 3rd, 1886, he was united in marriage to Miss Ida Marie Marquardt, and after spending a year in Ohio, the young couple came to Arlington where they located on a farm northeast of town.

To this union was born two daughters, Estella E., and Beulah R., who remained at home and assisted in the management of the farm. About thirty years ago the family accepted the doctrines as taught by the Seventh Day Adventists under the labors of C. R. Kite and A. C. Anderson.

Mrs. Coley preceded him in death three years ago, on October 4th, 1932.

For the past three years, Mr. Coley had been in failing health, but was able to carry on until about a week ago, his death being caused from cancer of the liver.

In the spring of 1882 he moved to Nebraska and located near Blair. On June 3, 1886 he was united in marriage to Miss Ida Marie Marquardt, and after a year spent in Ohio, they took up residence on the farm near Arlington, where he spent the remainder of his life.

To this union was born two children, Estella E. and Beulah R. About thirty years ago they accepted the doctrines as taught by the Seventh Day Adventists under the labors of C. R. Kite and A. C. Anderson.

His wife preceded him in death three years ago on the 4th of October. For about three years Mr. Coley had been in poor health, but was able to carry on until about one week ago. Upon examinations by physicians it was found he had cancer of the liver which proved fatal.

Mr. Coley was a kind and loving husband and father, a loyal church member and a good citizen. There is left to mourn the two daughters, one brother, two sisters, other relatives and a host of friends. He was laid to rest in the Arlington cemetery to await the call of the Great Life Giver.

Services were conducted at the home Tuesday by the Rev T. B. Westbrook, pastor of the Seventh Day Advent church in Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Graham, who accompanied the minister here, sang at the services.

Pallbearers were Fred Heuerman, Jr., Clare Nonnamaker, Art Barton, Le Roy McCann, Grover Wilkins and Ray Rosenbaum.
