Robert McDonald

Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 27 in Bridgeport for 92-year-old Robert McDonald, who died on July 25, 1985 at the Scottsbluff Villa in Scottsbluff.

McDonald was born on June 1, 1893 on a farm south of Blair. His parents were George and Jessie (Beales) McDonald, pioneers of Washington County.

In 1948 he married Meta Shipley and they continued to farm in the Kennard area until 1959, when they moved to Dalton.

Survivors include his son, Melvin Shipley of Lingo, Wyoming; daughter, Vonnadel (Shipley) Meyers of Sheridan, Wyoming; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Other survivors are his brother, Myron McDonald of Omaha; sisters, Mrs. Edith French of Boise, Idaho and Mrs. Thelma Longacre of Schuyler; also several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by wife, Meta, his parents, and three sisters and three brothers.

Interment was in the Dalton Cemetery.
