Karl Adolf “Ade” Peterson, 81

Services were held in both Florida and New York for former Blair native Karl Adolf (Ade) Peterson, who died December 24, 1994 in Deerfield Beach, Florida where he had lived for the last five years. Burial was Thursday, December 19 at Calverton National Cemetery on Long Island.

Karl Adolf Peterson was born December 8, 1913 in Blair to Karl and Anna Grimm Peterson. He attended school in Blair and served in the United States Army during World War II.

He was a member of Washington Lodge No. 21, A.F. & A.M. of Nebraska in Blair, Kismet Temple of the Shine, L.I., New York, several Shrine Clubs and Pompana Beach Elks Lodge.

He retired from American Can Company.

He was married to Helen Zito and they resided in North Bellmore, Long Island, New York for over 40 years. She preceded him in death in 1983.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John G. and Anne Peterson of Robinsville, New Jersey; daughter and son-in-law, Jane E. and Rick Collins of Cornona, California; four grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Oscar G. and Mary Peterson of Seattle, Washington; a brother, J.C. Peterson of Corpus Christi, Texas and cousins, Elizabeth Carlson of Blair and Doris Anthony of Fremont and Bud Grimm.
