Loren W. Peterson, 79

Loren W. Peterson, 79, of Sioux City, Iowa, died from complications of multiple myeloma on May 13, 2004, at the Sioux City Hospital. Funeral services were Monday, May 17.

Loren W. Peterson was born June 13, 1924, in Sioux City, Iowa, to G. Adolph and Alma Peterson.

He graduated in 1942 from East High School in Sioux City, then served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He later earned a bachelor of science degree from Iowa State University, and a master’s degree in 1965 from the University of South Dakota.

On July 19, 1947, he married Mildred M. Brodine.

Mr. Peterson was an industrial arts teacher in Sioux City West High School before retiring in 1985. He was a member of the First Covenant Church, the Siouxland Rock and Gem Society, and was an avid golfer.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred “Pete”; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy and Ron Champlin of Omaha, and Laurie and Todd Wick of Blair, and five grandsons.
