Funeral Services Held For Martha Peterson

Martha G. (Mattie) Peterson, 72, of 430 N. Seventh St. in Arlington died Thursday evening in Methodist Hospital at Omaha.

She was born August 3, 1909, at Arlington and lived there all her life.

Mrs. Peterson was a member of the Arlington Community Church, V.F.W. Auxiliary and Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 48 and was a past Worthy Matron. She worked ass a doctor’s assistant most of her life, serving Dr. Davies, and Drs. Davis and Dean Block.

Mrs. Peterson married John R. Peterson February 11, 1939, at Glenwood, Iowa. He preceded her in death on June 30, 1974.

Survivors include one son, Ronald (Monnie) of Elkhorn; two brothers, Arthur Heuerman of Fremont and Fred Heuerman of Arlington; five sisters, Mrs. Edna Schmidt of Fremont, Mrs. Park (Emma) Smith of Omaha, Mrs. Lottie Marshall of Arlington, Mrs. Ted (Lucille) Mefford of Anaheim, California, and Mrs. Ken (Elva) McChesney of Los Angeles, California, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were Monday at 11 a.m. in Arlington Community Church, the Rev. Gerald Senn officiating. Reckmeyer Funeral home at Arlington was in charge of the arrangements. Burial was in Arlington Cemetery. Order of the Eastern Star graveside services were conducted by Chapter No. 48, Mrs. William Rhea, Worthy Matron.

Mrs. Alvin Voss was the organist. Pallbearers were Fred Heurmann, Jr., Dr. David Bloch, Dr. Dean Bloch, Dr. Lauren Spangler, Roscoe Osterman and Jim Marshall.

Memorials may be made to the Arlington Community Church or the Arlington Rescue Squad.
