PIONEER WOMAN IN ARLINGTON DIES

Mrs. Mary Edith Peterson, wife of Peter Peterson, veteran salesman for Marshall Brothers nurseries, died at an Omaha hospital Friday morning following an illness of two months. Mrs. Peterson was taken to the Omaha hospital two weeks ago.

Mary Edith Neff was born at Quincy, Ill., April 23, 1867, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Neff. When a child her parents removed to Nebraska and located in Washington county near Arlington. Her marriage to Mr. Peterson was solemnized Nov. 21, 1883, at Arlington and until several years ago when they retired and moved to Arlington they made their home on the farm.

The husband, five children, Mrs. Grace Elsinger, Mrs. Florence Planck, Shirley and Leslie, all of Arlington, two brothers, George and Henry Neff, Arlington; two sisters, Mrs. Vetta Rasmussen, Arlington, and Mrs. Hattie Henderson, Newman Grove, and 14 grandchildren are the close surviving relatives.

The funeral was held Sunday at the Methodist church in Arlington.
