OBITUARY Petersen, Nicholas

Nicholas Petersen, aged 73 years, 8 months and 2 days, died Saturday, January 1 at his home in Washington county. Mr. Petersen was a pioneer resident of Washington county, where he has resided for the past forty years, coming here from eastern Iowa.

He was born in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany and emigrated to America when a young man, first locating near Clinton, Iowa, where he was married, later coming with his family to Nebraska and locating on his farm three miles north of Bennington where he resided until his death.

Surviving him are his aged wife, four sons, two daughters, one sister near Winside, one brother in Russia and one sister in Germany.

The funeral was held Monday, January 3 from his late home and interment was made in the German cemetery, Rev. E.V. Nusbaum officiating.
