Violet Peterson, 84

Violet W. Peterson, 84, of Fremont and formerly of Arlington, died July 8, 1987, in a Scottsdate, Arizona, hospital while visiting.

Violet Warren was born August 14, 1902, in Craig, Missouri, and moved to Arlington at the age of 7.

She lived in Arlington until she moved to Fremont in 1978.

On June 2, 1924, she married Dr. Lawrence Peterson in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He preceded her in death on April 27, 1951, as did her parents, William and Lena (Quiller) Warren.

She was a member of the Arlington Community Church, Sarepta Chapter 48, Order of Eastern Star member for over 50 years and a past Worthy Matron, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Arlington.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lauren (Jacqueline) Spangler of Arlington and Mrs. Laverne (Janet) Christiansen of Scottsdate, Arizona; and sister, Mrs. Helen Hahbeck of Arlington; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Private funeral services were held Monday, July 13, at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington. The Rev. Eddie Masters officiated.

Burial was in the Arlington Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Dr. Jack Cady, Henry Frye, H.U. “Bud” Gaines, Don Longacre, Raymond Lugwig, Jr., and Merle Christensen.

Graveside services were conducted by the Sarepta Chapter 48, Order of Eastern Star at the Arlington Cemetery.
