She was preceded in death by her first husband, Norbert “Bud” Thirtle and a daughter, Geraldine Shelhorn.

She is survived by her husband, Harry Peterson; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Robyn Thirtle, Burkeville, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Edward Kock, Blair; a son-in-law, Jack Shelhorn, Omaha; a brother, Oscar Christensen, Omaha; nine grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends.
