Charles Schulz

Charles M. “Mike” Schulz, 58, of Nickerson died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010, at Arbor Manor in Fremont.

He was born July 8, 1952, in Omaha. He lived in Valley and Herman before moving to Nickerson. He previously was employed at Rail Car Nebraska in Omaha for more than 20 years and then worked at RK Aerials in Fremont. As a child, he raised pigeons. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping.

He married Charmaine Keeler on July 6, 1973, at Yutan. They later divorced. She died April 28, 2008.

Survivors include: his sons, Adam (and wife, Danielle) Schulz and Lucas Schulz, all of Fremont; a daughter, Dawn McDuffee of Fremont; father, Melverne Schulz of Elkhorn; sisters, Lori Forsythe of Elkhorn and Sue (and husband, Tom) Lentell of Bedford, Iowa; four grandchildren and a special friend, Diana Lance of Ames.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Schulz; ex-wife, Charmaine; and close friend, Ron Lance.

There is no funeral, however, family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday with a lunch to be served from noon to 3 p.m., all at Clarion Inn in Fremont.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont is in charge of arrangements.

A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.
