Frances Jahnel, 89

Frances O. Jahnel, 89, of Fremont, died Monday, Feb. 9, 1998, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Campbell-Aman Funeral Chapel in Blair. Burial will be in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.

Mrs. Jahnel was born Oct. 3, 1908, in Aurora, Neb., to Harrison and Bertha (Redmon) Fowler. She was a graduate of the LeMars, Iowa, High School. On Dec. 27, 1929 she married Harry Jahnel in Iowa. They lived and farmed at Kennard, Arlington, Tekamah and Oakland in Nebraska. After they retired, they moved to Nye Square in Fremont. She had been a resident of Crowell Memorial Home for the past three years.

She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Lewis and Clark Chapter in Fremont.

Survivors are her husband, Harry, of Fremont; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mrs. Edna Fowler of San Diego, Calif.; Mrs. Floyd Fowler of Seattle, Wash.; Hazel Christiansen of Kennard; Walt and Ruth Jahnel of Tekamah and Robert Jahnel of Blair; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and three brothers.

Note: Frances is buried in Section L, Block 26C, Grave 8 of the Ft. Calhoun Cemetery.
