. Alvina Schumacher, 82

Funeral services for Alvina Schumacher, 82, of Blair, were held on Monday, Oct. 23, 2000 at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Kennard. Interment was in the German Cemetery. Mrs. Schumacher died at her home on Oct. 18, 2000.

Alvina Schumacher was born Jan. 5, 1918 in rural Kennard to Henry and Anna (Mueller) Wesemann.

She attended the Peaceful Hill School in rural Kennard, and had lived in the Kennard area until moving to Blair in 1998.

On Feb. 22, 1939, she married Fred. W. Schumacher at Bennington.

Mrs. Schumacher was a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church, the church Women’s Circle and quilting group, the Colby Corner Extension Club, and the neighborhood card club.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Blankenship of Kennard; two sons and daughters-in-law, Fred A. and Sherrill Schumacher and Don and Joyce Schumacher, all of Kennard; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ella Rohwer of Omaha, Anita Lauritzen of Blair, and Wanda Grebe of Tekamah; and two brothers, Elmer Wesemann of Blair and Louis Wesemann of Kennard.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, six brothers and two sisters.

Memorials are suggested to the German Cemetery or Emmaus Lutheran Church.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
