Fred W. Schumacher, 84, died Saturday, June 14, 1997 at his rural Kennard home.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Kennard. Burial will be in the German Cemetery.

Schumacher was born Feb. 14, 1913 in Omaha to Chris and Louise (Stender) Schumacher. He attended the LaCrone School. On Feb. 2, 1939, he married Alvina Wesemann in Omaha. He farmed in rural Kennard his entire life.

He was a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church and the Papio Dam Preservation Association.

Survivors are his wife, Alvina; two sons and daughters-in-law, Fred a. and Sherrill Schumacher and Don and Joyce Schumacher and one daughter, Donna Blankenship, all of Kennard; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Henry, and a sister, Doretta.

Memorials may be given to the Kennard Rescue Squad or Emmaus Lutheran Church.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
