Services for 59 year old Walter C. Schumacher will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 1978 at the Emmaus Lutheran Church with Rev. Wayne Josephson officiating. Burial will be in the Kennard Cemetery under the direction of the Campbell Funeral Home.

Mr. Schumacher died at the Blair Memorial Community Hospital on October 19, 1978. He was born on March 15, 1919 at Kennard, Nebraska. Mr. Schumacher had been a Machine Operator for Omaha Steel Company.

He is survived by his wife Hattie (Cameron) Schumacher of Kennard and one daughter, Mrs. Keith (Sandra) Carmichael of Blair plus two grandchildren.

Surviving brothers and sisters include Mrs. Claus (Sophia) Wrigg, Kennard; Mrs. Eva Wriss, Blair; Mrs. Harry (Margaret) Andreasen, Kennard; Mrs. Christine Stander, Blair; and Mrs. Art (Hilda) Mueller of Blair.

The couple was married on July 16, 1944, in Arlington. They farmed for the first seven years after their marriage. Mr. Schumacher then worked for the Omaha Steel firm for 18 years.

Mr. Schumacher was baptized in the Emmaus Lutheran Church. One son, Gary, preceded him in death in 1968. There were also three brothers who have died.

The pallbearers will be: Roscoe Andersen, George Boock, Junior Nielsen, Ray Rosenbaum, Don Sorensen, and Cliff Staben.
