Fritz Jahnel Died Thursday, Services Saturday

Fritz Jahnel, 89 years of age, a resident of Washington County for 88 years, died Thursday at the McBride Home in Blair.

Funeral services were held Saturday at the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church the Rev. Keith Sackett officiating with interment in Fort Calhoun Cemetery.

Mr. Jahnel is survived by his wife, Mary; sons Harry of Oakland, Ray and Robert of Blair and Walter of Tekamah; daughter Mrs. Walter Christensen (Hazel) of Kennard; sisters Mrs. Lena Anderson of Bruce, Wisconsin, Mrs. Rose Matthiesen and Mrs. Elsie Dornacker of Blair and a brother Chris of Blair.

Mr. Jahnel was born December 25, 1877, in Omaha. When he was one year of age his parents moved to a farm south of Blair where he lived until 1946 when he moved to Blair. He married Mary Schmidt of Fort Calhoun on January 6, 1904.

Pallbearers were Howard Craven, Kenneth Jahnel, Leonard Miller, Jack Rathjen, Rymer Fedde and Howard Widener. Honorary pallbearers were Henry Wulbern, William Wulbern, Rudolph Kuhl, Robbie Andersen, Andrew Wiese and Fred R. Hansen.

The Sievers Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Note: Fritz was buried in Section B Block 116 Grave 3 in he Ft. Calhoun Cemetery.
