Albert H. Dunklau, 92, of Arlington, died July 14, 2001, at Arbor Manor in Fremont.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. Rick Kanoy officiating. Interment will be at St. Paul’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church.

Albert H. Dunklau was born July 3, 1909, on a farm near Arlington to August and Ella (Stork) Dunklau. He grew up and lived in the Arlington area all his life. He was a 1929 graduate of Arlington High School.

On June 21, 1936, he married Viola M. Stork at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death in 1988.

He farmed east of Arlington until retiring in 1977. He then moved into Arlington and lived there until moving to the Pathfinder House in Fremont in November, 2000. He had been residing at Arbor Manor since April 2001.

Mr. Dunklau was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, was a charter member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Layman’s League, and had served as a church elder, trustee and on various other church boards.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Galen and Darlene Dunklau of Arlington; daughter and son –in-law, Rosalyn and Lloyd Vogt of Arlington; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, and two brothers, Clarence and Emil Dunklau.

Memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, the Arlington Education Foundation, and the Arlington Community Fund.

Albert Henry Rudolf Dunklau was born July 3, 1909, on a farm near Arlington, Nebraska. He was baptized on July 11, 1909 and confirmed into the Lutheran faith on March 25, 1923 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Arlington, Nebraska. He was a 1929 graduate of Arlington High School. Albert married Viola M. Stork on June 21, 1936 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. The couple farmed east of Arlington until moving into Arlington in 1977. Viola died on July 2, 1988. Albert moved to the Pathfinder House in Fremont, Nebraska in November of 2000 and had been residing at Arbor Manor in Fremont since April 2001.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, north of Arlington and had been a church elder and trustee and served on various other church boards. He was a charter member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Layman’s League.

Albert passed from this life on Saturday, July 14, 2001 at Arbor Manor in Fremont, Nebraska, at the age of 92 years and 11 days. He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Galen and Darlene Dunklau; daughter and son-in-law, Rosalyn and Lloyd Vogt, all of Arlington; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Ella (Stork) Dunklau; his wife; and 2 brothers, Clarence and Emil Dunklau.
