COUNTY FARMER DIES THURSDAY

August Dunklau died this Thursday morning, following a stroke, at the farm home two miles east of Arlington. The funeral will be held on Sunday afternoon at two o’clock at the home and two thirty o’clock at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, with Rev. Carl Hellmann officiating. A complete obituary will appear in next week’s issue of this paper.

AUGUST DUNKLAU BURIED SUNDAY

Funeral services for August Henry Dunklau, prominent farmer of this vicinity, who died at his home on Thursday, July 5th, were held on Sunday at St. Paul’s Lutheran church, and were largely attended. Rev. Carl Hellmann officiated.

A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Zaccharias Dunklau, pioneer residents, he was born on April 1, 1876; he grew to manhood here and on February 25, 1904 was married to Miss Ella Stork. Three sons were born to this union, one of whom, Clarence, preceded his father in death about a year ago.

The congregation sang”Who Knoweth When Death May Overtake Me” and “My Course Is Run Praise God”; and the choir, directed by George Bluma, sang “Hear Our Prayer”.

Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased and were Lorenz Dunklau, Leo Schmidt, Rupert Dunklau, Albert Kruger, Eugene Stork and Norman Dunklau.

Surviving Mr. Dunklau are his wife, two sons, Emil and Albert, both of this place; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Louis of Arlington, E. H. of Fremont and Henry of California; also three sisters, Mrs. F. W. Kruger of Fremont, Mrs. Daniel Drudie of Truman, Minnesota and Miss Johanna Dunklau of St. Paul, Minnesota; and a number of other relatives.

Burial was made in St. Paul’s cemetery.

Among those from a distance who attended the services were Mrs. Drudie and Miss Dunklau.
