Donna J. Carper, 75, of Fremont died March 4, 2001, at Fremont Area Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. March 6 at the Fremont Evangelical Free Church, with the Rev. Rob Spkystra officiating. There will be no visitation.

Donna Jean (Witt) Carper was born May 8, 1925 at Scribner where she was raised. She graduated from Scribner High School in 1942.

On May 5, 1950, she married Elton T. Carper in Scribner.

Mrs. Carper taught school in rural Scribner before entering the University of Nebraska Cadet Nursing Program. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Wayne State College.

She was employed at the Fremont Area Medical Center and then the West Point Hospital, returning to work for the Fremont Area Medical Center until her retirement in 1993.

She is survived by her husband, Elton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dawn and John Nielsen, of Blair, and Shelli and Neil Panning of Hooper; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Joelene Carper of Clarinda, Iowa, and Kevin and Jan Carper of Hastings; two sisters, Arla Naber of Albion and Opal Mogensen of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Wayne Witt or Bountiful, Utah; and 12 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Mylo Witt of Scribner.

Memorials are suggested to the Fremont Area Medical Center Foundation and the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Lattin-Dugan-Chambers Funeral Chapel in Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
