Carol Margie Carson, 84, died Monday March 17, 1997, at the Tekamah Nursing Home.

Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Herman, Rev. Harland Minscer officiating. Burial will be in the Tekamah Cemetery at Tekamah, Nebr.

Carson was born Nov. 26, 1912, in Emerson, Nebr. to Carl and Gladys Gates. She attended Tekamah Public Schools and graduated in 1930. On June 12, 1935, she married Lloyd Carson in Blair. She was a homemaker and was employed in and owned a restaurant in Herman for several years before retiring in 1975.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Herman.

Survivors are daughters, Peggy Hull of Fort Lupton, Colo. and Carol Brummond of Herman; sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Rose Carson of Omaha; Dale and Kathy Carson of Omaha and Merle and LaVonne Carson of Wakefield; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; half-sisters, Joyce Peters of Heron Lake, Minn.; Irene Plantz of Windom, Minn.; Betty Norton of Dundee, Minn. and Norma Holinka of Byron, Minn. and half-brothers, Pat Gates of Minneapolis, Minn. and Keith Gates of Trimont, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, brother, an infant sister; two sons-in-law and a half-sister.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Duane Hull, Tom Hull, Greg Brummond, Kevin Brummond, Ronnie Carson, Brett Carson, Scott Carson, Ryan Carson, Joe Kent, Tim Hoffman and Randy Bromm.

Hamel-Peck-Pelan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
