James L. Carson, 52, if Kennard, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Papillion.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19th, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

James L. Carson was born April 22, 1950, in Lincoln to James W. and Leona (Timm) Carson. He spent his younger years in Murdock and several other places before moving to Blair in 1967. He graduated from Blair High School in1968, and attended Southeast Community College in Milford, where he studied carpentry.

He lived in rural Kennard for more that 20 years, and loved the farm and gardening. He canned produce and gave away many of the things he grew. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, and spent most of his time hunting and fishing with his friends.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Blair, and served as a member of the Kennard Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department. He was a gifted carpenter who enjoyed making beautiful woodwork. He worked for S.E. Smith & Sons in Blair for more than 20 years, where he was manager before becoming ill.

He is survived by his daughter, Tracey Carson, and her fiancé, Donavon Roach; and son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Heather Carson, all of Blair; parents, Jim and Leona Carson of Murdock; sisters and brother-in-law, Linda and Wally Meadows of Fremont, Diann Schiessler and special friend Ed Ruiz of Laguna Vista, Texas; brothers and sister-in-law, Bill and Peggy Carson, and Rick Carson, all of Lincoln; grandmother, Lena Timm of Murdock; five grandchildren; aunts, uncles, nephews and many, many friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Carson, Louis Timm, and niece, Danielle Schneider.

Memorials are suggested to the family.

Campbell-Amen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
