Former Fort Calhoun resident Opal M. Carson, 96, of Omaha, died Friday, July 15, 2005, in Omaha.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 21, at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Omaha.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, at the funeral home.

Opal Marie Carson was born Aug. 9, 1908, in Washington County.

She is survived by daughters, Ramona Anson of Omaha and Ruth Parker of Reno, Nev.; son, Richard W. Carson of Salem, Ore.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl W. Carson.

Memorials are suggested to the Washington County Historical Association.
