PETE CARSON DIED THURS.

SERVICES WERE HELD SATURDAY AT BENDORF FUNERAL HOME

Funeral services were held Saturday at the Bendorf Funeral home for Pete Carson, 72 years of age, of 1843 South St., who died Thursday at the McBride Nursing Home in Blair.

The Rev. Clair Olney of the Congregational Church officiated, with the Blair VFW Post and American Legion in charge of military service at Blair Cemetery.

Mr. Carson was born Oct. 31, 1887 at Prescott, Ia. He served in the Navy during World War I. He is a past Commander of the Blair American Legion and past State Sergeant-of-Arms; and held other positions in the service organization. He attended more national Legion conventions than any veteran in Washington County. He was a retired railroad man.

Mr. Carson is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Maude Lawrence of Blair, Mrs. Ray Frain of San Juan, Texas, Mrs. Chan Waller of Mound City, Kans, and Mrs. Wilbert Napier of Ewing, Nebr.

Pallbearers were Earl Long, Carl Schmidt, Alfred Napier, Leslie Offen, Walter Huber and Charles McNew.
