Alfred Carter
Died on 6/11/1912

Published in the Pilot July 3, 1912.

Miss Dora Carter has at last learned the particulars concerning the death of her nephew, Alfred Carter, who died very suddenly in New York City two weeks ago. He hadn’t been sick an hour but had worked at the office all day drafting. This wasn’t his regular work but they were short of help and he did it. When he got home he said he was very tired and before he went to bed he took a hot bath. Shortly after he laid down he began to breathe heavily and his wife got up and turned on the light to see what was the matter, for when she spoke to him he made no reply. A physician was called but before he arrived Mr. Carter was dead. The doctor said it was a severe stroke of apoplexy. He was taken to Cleveland, Ohio for burial and now lies in Lakeview Cemetery near the tomb of one of our martyred presidents, Jas. A. Garfield. Miss Marion Carter went from South Omaha to attend the funeral and Mrs. Carter took her home with her short visit.
