Harry R. Paulsen was born on August 12, 1910 on a farm outside of Blair to Chris and Minnie (Jensen) Paulsen. He graduated from Blair High School in 1929 and was united in marriage to Mildred Nelsen on May 29, 1929 in Blair. They farmed in the DeSoto area before moving to Cozad, Nebraska where they operated a Ben Franklin Store for 4 years. They moved to Omaha and then Ft. Calhoun, where Harry farmed and began selling real estate.

Harry had a love for nature, enjoying the outdoors with its trees and birds. He also enjoyed playing card and dancing with his friends at Peony Park. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Odd Fellows and DeSoto School Board.

Harry died at the Brookstone Nursing Center in Omaha on January 23, 2002.

Surviving are his wife, Mildred; son and daughter-in-law Gary and Pat of Omaha; grandchildren: Lezlie and Bob McPherson, Teri and Del Andresen and Tracy Paulsen of Omaha; great grandchildren: Ted and Melissa Greguska, Tara Andresen, Kari Andresen, Carter Paulsen and Reed Paulsen, all of Omaha; great-great-grandchildren: Jack and Sam Greguska; sister, Vivian Melton of New Mexico and sister-in-law, Leola Jensen of Omaha; step great grandchildren: Amos, Zach and Chava McPherson.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers; Alfred and Dave, and 2 sisters: Della and Mildred.

Harry R. Paulsen, 91

Funeral services for Harry R. Paulsen, 91, of Blair, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002 at First Lutheran Church in Blair, with interment in the Blair Cemetery. Mr. Paulsen died Wednesday, Jan. 23, at the Brookstone Nursing Center in Omaha.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 25, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Harry Richard Paulsen was born Aug. 12, 1910, on a farm outside of Blair to Chris and Minnie (Jensen) Paulsen. He graduated from Blair High School in 1929.

On May 29, 1929 he married Mildred Nelsen in Blair. The couple farmed in the DeSoto area before moving to Cozad, where they operated a Ben Franklin store for four years. They moved to Omaha and then to Fort Calhoun, where Mr. Paulsen farmed and began selling real estate.

Mr. Paulsen had a love for nature, and enjoyed the outdoors with its trees and birds. He also enjoyed playing cards and dancing with his friends at Peony Park in Omaha.

He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Odd Fellows, and DeSoto School Board.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred, son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Pat Paulsen of Omaha, three grandchildren and their spouses, five great-grandchildren and spouses, two great-great-grandchildren, a sister, Vivian Melton of New Mexico, and sister-in-law, Leola Jensen of Omaha, and three step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred and Dave, and two sisters, Della and Mildred.

Memorials are suggested to First Lutheran Church.
