Adolph Schurman is Buried Near Winslow

Funeral services for Adolph (Butch) Schurman, 71, were Friday, October 26, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, east of Winslow. The Rev. Rodney Meske officiated.

Schurman, a retired farmer, died Tuesday at the Memorial Hospital of Dodge County in Fremont after a two month illness.

Born March 13, 1908, in Fontanelle, he was a lifetime resident of the Nickerson area. Schurman was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Laymen’s League of the church.

He married Lavera Timme on June 15, 1941. She died August 17, 1967.

Survivors of Schurman include two sons: David of Alta, Iowa; and Richard of Nickerson; two daughters, Mrs. Stephen (Joyce) Albers of Lee Summit, Missouri, and Mrs. Edward (Merry) Jusiewicz of Browns Mills, New Jersey and seven grandchildren.

Other survivors include two brothers: W.A. (Foxy) and Kermit Schurman both of Nickerson; and a sister Mrs. Ethel Mengedoht of Fremont.

Burial was in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
